Swimming- and diving goggles

Swimming goggles

Today every lens is coated, i.e. non-reflecting, hardened or is provided with a clean-coat-film. At a visit in a swimming pool these coatings will be extremely charged, e.g. by variations in temperature but particularly by the additive of chlorine in the water. Glasses with high-class lenses should therefore not be worn during swimming. Contacts would be more appropriate than glasses, but they could easily disappear during swimming.

Primarily the optical swimming goggles are for the usage above water in order to orientate one self. The advantages of the swimming goggles are:
Protection of irritation because of the chlorine water.
In contempt of ametropia you have the ability to keep the overview in the water, above the water and up to the pool.

There are also swimming goggles with toned lenses e.g. for the open air bath, or complete transparent lenses. In any case they are always synthetic lenses, which arrange for a good UV-protection, because water (just like snow) reflects additional UV-light dues.

Swimming goggles are available in raw nuances, so called "completed frames". They are mostly adequate for a good orientation. If there are specific values, e.g. heavy astigmatism (corneal irregularity), we also have the facility to draw up a swimming goggle exactly to your demands.

Diving goggles

If you have to pass on your habitual correction during diving or snorkeling, so the fun misses out. The visual capacity of a diver e.g. with a corneal irregularity of approx. 2,00 dpt is being reduced from 100% to less than 30%.
A very good solution for sure is the correction with contacts. Spectacle wearers, who do not want to wear contacts, we could help with a full correcting optical paned diving mask.
Compared to swimming goggles, diving masks are exclusively made for the use under water.
Different refraction ratio under water are borne in mind, therefore the visual power of the diving mask deviates from the correction glasses. The glasses worked up by us are no spectacle lenses. They are made apart for your diving mask and are unique for your eyes. Every lens is a unit production, not a series production i.e. no so-called "completed frames". However there is also this ability as a good value alternative. Similar to the swimming goggles the grading of the values is very abrasive and the use depends on your requirements. We craft you all kinds of diving goggles and in most cases we can glaze your own diving masks. Of course we can craft diving masks for close and far distance, e.g. to correct an ametropia and an according correction for reading the watch, the instruments and so on… Our diving masks are made in consideration of the eye base, the space between the eye and the lens and to the prevention of aberrations, just like all our correction glasses.

We will be glad to advise you individually about the ideal supply for your hobby!
